1. What did you learn from the FirstBank Goals.Grit.Grind Financial Literacy event for Youths on the 29th of December 2017?
I learned a myriad of new concepts involving money management. Personally, I was able to gain further insight on how Financial Management works. You can only achieve effective financial management if you have a sound organizational plan. A plan in this context means having set objectives. Also, you must have developed and evaluated strategies to achieve these objectives.
In both the long-term and short-term, strategic planning is key to achieving Financial stability.
2. What do you plan to do following the event?
On that day, I picked up an Explore First application form. I plan to open that account and set up a mutual fund account. I believe these will help me develop a saving culture. After my account has been opened, I will do the following:
- Set a budget
- Separate my needs from wants
- Continue to save
It was a very impactful talk.
