1. What did you learn from the FirstBank Goals.Grit.Grind Financial Literacy event for Youths on the 29th of December 2017?

Firstly, I would love to say a big thank you to First Bank for the event. I learned so many things from the various facilitators. From Mrs Nimi Akinkungbe, I learned never to finish spending all my money, to create a budget, save aggressively in my twenties, earn extra money, invest in myself and get established in my chosen career or business and watch the company I keep and should never forget to give back to my community. From Mrs Awosika, I learned to set specific, measurable, realistic, achievable and timely goals and cut back on unnecessary spending, and build a lifestyle I can sustain and be courageous, determined, disciplined and diligent enough to pursue my goals. The money tree by Dr Banjoko gave me an idea on how my money should be channeled and invested.

2. What do you plan to do following the event?

What I plan to do after the event is to firstly, open an investment account, (I already have a savings account) create a group of friends (accountability partners) that support me in achieving my goals, Intensify my savings from my monthly student allowance, get jobs or render services to people during the holidays so as to earn extra money and by God’s grace start a little business with what I have immediately after my graduation this July. I also plan to increase the base and structure of my teenagers leadership coaching program so as to empower more teenagers from humble backgrounds in my environment by changing their mindset and outlook to life and overcoming the barriers that seems to limit them from succeeding.
