1.What did you learn from the FirstBank Goals.Grit.Grind Financial Literacy event for Youths on the 29th of December 2017?
I was not able to attend, so I followed on social media. There were six NEW things I learned:
One, was that people are the drivers of my wealth. This was important because I am not a people-friendly person.
Second, I learned about thinking BIG.
Third, I learned about creating a monthly budget based on my AVAILABLE income.
Fourth, I learned that being passionate about my goals is key.
Fifth, I learned the first rule of investment- if you don’t understand it, don’t do it.
Lastly, I learned about INUM my God-given talents.
There were also some other things, which I had heard before, but were reinforced; Time is my most fundamental investment aspect; What I know HOW to do is more important than money; I loved the concise definition of financial literacy- making informed decisions concerning money; choosing right friends and saving.
2.What do you plan to do following the event?
I will save better, keep records of my spending in order to cut down and budget. I will TRY to interact with people more, when I get the chance to. I will also work to build better habits and keep educating myself.
